L'Opera Salon De The: Beautiful French Bakery In The Capital

Mr. Kazem Samandari, the man behind the chain of these beautiful French Bakeries with the name of L'Opera in the Capital. The name “L’Opéra” refers to the renowned opera house in Paris, one of the refined symbols of the French capital but also to the delicious multi-layer chocolate and coffee French pastry named “Opéra”.

The L’Opéra Story

L’Opéra, from its inception, has been all about quality and excellence.  It was borne out of the longing of Laurent Samandari in 2008 for authentic French breads and pastries.

Along with the family, who was also living in India and supported his nascent and ambitious project, an in-depth market study of the high-end Food and Beverage segment in Delhi was undertaken. With the assistance of the French Embassy in Delhi, who kindly provided their purpose-built kitchen for testing, and the encouragement of the family’s Delhiite friends and expats to go further, the project grew legs.

A state-of-the-art production center was the next item on the agenda; one that needed to suit the exigencies of a high-end bakery. The training of the staff was then imminent. Several French chefs including one from the renowned French culinary institution Lenôtre intensively trained the staff in the techniques of culinary excellence and ensured that no detail was missed so as to provide products of the highest quality.

Once this initial phase had passed, L’Opéra managed to bring the French experience to the heart of the Indian capital. The home delivery service was launched in
2010 and Indians alike, who appreciated French culinary excellence, the first L’Opéra outlet opened its doors in March 2011 in Khan Market, the most prestigious market in Delhi.

L’Opéra has now set a new trend in the Indian market for high-end bakery and desserts based on innovative ideas regarding quality, atmosphere and presentation. Residents of Delhi can now also enjoy culinary elements of French style and an elegant Parisian terrace in Epicuria Mall, inspired by the typical French “Salon de Thé”, a concept that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century; it further exemplifies this French experience with ample seating space and impeccable attention to detail.

Today L’Opéra boasts 13 outlets in Delhi and Gurgaon, with over 130 employees. It operates its activities through its point of sales and also its institutional customers, bringing the very best of France to India.
